I'd love to have an accoutability partner to tell me when I'm making excuses and when I kicked ass! I'd love to do the same for said partner!!!! I'm 44, a divorced mom of 3 kids (15, 12, 9), and an Office Manager (read: out of shape). Time to do the proper shopping and cooking, in addition to working out, IS hard to find! But, I want to reach my goal figure (not thinking about my weight as much as I am thinking of being fit and healthy... bathing suit worthy!) by this summer. I'm starting at 141 lbs and 5'5". I realize these numbers do not indicate as tough a position to be in as many who are here looking for support, but, like everyone else, I don't want to fail and I can feel the lazinesss setting in. I think I'd very much like a partner in this journey. Any takers? Attachments:

I would love to be your accountability partner! I'm 51, mom to two adult daughters. I'm a community health nurse and also studying to be a nurse practitioner. I had back surgery 6 years ago and am now trying to get back to a healthy lifestyle. I've lost 20 pounds ( I'm 5 ft 6, 139 lbs). My struggle will be to stick with eating properly and continuing to work out. I struggle with work/life/studying balance... Dawn

Okay, Dawn... you're my go-to girl and I am yours!!! Tell me... what motivates you? I have a Pinterest account where I have found many fitness inspirations in the form of links to websites such as this one, exercise routines, recipes and photos of women whose bodies I would like for mine to resemble in the not too distant future! ;D Music also really gets me moving! But I sit at my desk all day in an office and it's hard to get away with dancing and singing there. LOL! This morning (5:15am) I discovered dance-workout videos on my cable's OnDemand feature. I got about 15 mins worth in, but I became frustrated at my lack of coordination and how, if someone were to look in my living room window, I could have been mistaken for a person having convulsions! No lie... it was pitiful. Still I am proud to have gotten up that early to do something in cardio! I think I want to be a runner. Will it be pretty? No. I hate to run... always have hated it. And, how about my timing to come up with this idea? Wintertime in PA. And the only access to a treadmill I have is the non-electrical one in the garage that is currently hidden by the kids' bikes! What is winter like where you live? What are your work hours like? What kind of cooking do you do... when there is time of course! Attachments:

I am also very uncoordinated ;D. What motivates me....being able to deal with chronic pain issues (as long as I remain active, I can deal with it). Feeling fit and healthy is a motivator for me as well. I am a community health nurse....always talking about healthy eating/lifestyle so I guess it is time to put action to my words. I also coach track/field for the kids in the community I work in, want to set a positive example for them. Cooking....I cook by guess & by golly....read recipes and then make it fit what I have on hand. I love to run!! I had back surgery 6 years ago...was told at that time that I could only run 3 miles max. I loved running half marathons at that time and did not appreciate the shorter distance. This fall/winter I have gotten back to running...running is my stress reliever. I am quite content to run the shorter distance now. If I can run....anyone can! Dawn

Great job on getting up (VERY) early to workout!! I think I likely look like someone having a convulsion when I dance too Maritime winters (I live in Nova Scotia) are usually cold but our weather has been very unseasonable this year....very cold one day and warm the next.

Today's 5:30 in the a.m. workout brought to you by the letters S, N, O & W!!! Had to shovel the driveway, steps and walk, but had on my headphones listening to I <3 Radio's LMFAO station! I don't care what the neighbors think of my dance moves, as long as I'm movin'!

p.s. Didn't workout yesterday as I wasn't feeling even close to my best. Still, doesn't excuse my binging on cinnamon graham crackers and Nutella after my chicken soup supper.
crap.

Good for you! Keep MOVING! Remember the long term goal in all of this! How's your eating going? I splurged on Sat night, but right back on it yesterday! I cleared off all the kids stuff from atop of that dinosaur of a treadmill and got on it at 4:30am today. Torture. Even with the music that gets me moving this thing made it very difficult to maintain any rhythm at all. Gotta figure that thing out because I was counting on it to get me thru the winter months. Possible Zumba class tomorrow. Should be easier than the last time I took it... I was a smoker then! New year -- New ME!!! Have an absolutely WONDERFUL day!!! ;D Attachments:

My diet has been good... very healthy. I haven't done much in the way of exercise, however, one of the guys here at work goes to the LA Fitness gym everyday at lunchtime and his membership allows him to take a guest. So guess who is going to the gym today! ME! Your end result wishes.... keep them in mind today, Sweetie!!! ;D
