Hey all, I am just loving the Skinny Ms. website. What fantastic ladies to devote their time and energy into bettering lives of others! I am hoping to find someone who will be a good accountability buddy. I am from OR and let me say these winter months are a killer here (clouds and lack of sun, need I say more? I'm looking to change my habits of diet and activity for a lifetime, not just a short term thing. Sure, losing weight will come naturally with these changes but I am hoping to tone up and feel better as a result. I have previously lost 50lbs years ago and have gained that and then some back. Looking to make this change permanent for a lifetime of good health and happiness! Currently at the most I have weighed in my life and what really got me the other day is that I was not able to run for very long(and I love to run!). This made me really sad, felt worse than the way I look or anything else that goes along with being overweight. Needless to say this motivated me. If I do not start making change now, when will I ever? Here is what I am looking for. Someone who will check in with me and hold me accountable to my dietary and activity goals. Someone who will be encouraging, gentle, but firm, but not beat around the bush. In return I would like to be and do the same for someone else!

I need someone like that too. I'm on WW and am doing pretty good with the healthy eating but I really hate exercise. I know it's a necessary part of living healthy though so I need a LOT of encouragement. My husband doesn't help. He plays ice hockey so that's his activity. He has knee problems and doesn't like to walk, so we can't do that together. We keep talking about hiking (more interesting than just walking I guess) but since we are both couch potatoes neither one of us has much influence on the other to get moving!
I'm 46, live in GA, mom to one boy, don't work outside home.

Hello! My name is Margaret and I live in upstate NY. I've been mostly eating clean for almost a year now. I was very successful early on but it was a difficult year personally and professionally and I turned to my good old friend food to help me through it. I have decided that even though I'd like to lose about 50 lbs (I lost 50 after I had my son 9 years ago, kept it off for nearly 8 years) I am much more interested in living a healthy lifestyle that includes a variety of regular exercise and eating right. I feel much better when I am not eating anything processed, refined or that has any kind of sugar. It's not always easy. I am also looking for someone to encourage and support me. My husband and son are very supportive as well, but I really enjoy connecting with people who've been there : )
After some serious foot problems and a doctor-prescribed hiatus from weight-bearing exercise for two months, I've begun riding the recumbant bike for cardio every other day, doing weight training on the days I don't ride. I find that keeping track in a pocket calendar and giving myself stickers really helps keep me motivated. I feel that if I can do this consistently for the next month, I'll feel successfully on my way. Needing some motivation in the early mornings as this is when I exercise. Feel very energized throughout the day when I do and I like that!
